Ronaldo Fraga Fall 2013-14 Runway Show at Sao Paulo

SAO PAULO — Brazilian designer Ronaldo Fraga gave us a lot to think about for his Fall/Winter 2013/14 collection at Sao Paulo Fashion Week. Models took to the runway with slicked back hair extended into long plaits that featured as an item of jewellery; wrapped around like a necklace, bracelet, or simply carried to stop it from trailing on the floor. And in keeping with a modern take on traditional Chinese clothing, Fraga’s new collection comprised a mix of loose-fitting trousers, waistcoats with classic collars, and 3/4 length skirts detailed with gentle pleats that came in a dusty palette of greys, purples, blues, and pinks. Two-piece looks were contrasted with blocking colors and checkered graphics, while the collection later developed into more playful prints using nature as a point of reference; tree branches, flowers, and cherries printed on sheer fabrics. Each look was topped with a Chinese-style flat, pointy shoe that came in a multitude of colors and patent looks.
