Traditional Prints with a Modern Twist at Araisara Fall 2012

TOKYO – Sara Arai is the designer behind the brand Araisara, which began as a pret-a-porter line in 2008. The line brings a connection between traditional Oriental/Asian culture and fashion. This, of course, means traditional Chinese and Japanese prints in modern shapes. The modern shapes here meant lots of wrapping and draping for added oversize effect, while still keeping the femininity in tact. Ironically, while the brand was started in Tokyo, this season will be the last that the collection will show there. The next collection will be showcased in Paris.
