Alexis Mabille Spring 2012 Show at Paris Fashion Week
PARIS – We know Alexis Mabille loves bow ties and we know he loves floral. This is pretty evident from his Spring/Summer 2012 collection during Paris Fashion Week, which has a decidedly girly feel to it with all the colorful flowers, fringe, and the denim-colored stripes. What made for all the floral and fringe? The show was inspired by The Garden of the Finzi-Continis and set in a greenhouse. Ironically, he says his collection was based on a girl who “is in touch with her masculine side but sticks to womanly ways.” Although you could argue that those stripes were in sync with that line of thought, it was only when they were paired with lace or sleeves formed a bow that this was truly apparent. The shirtdresses stood out but so did the outfits later on–that neat blazer and capri pants combo along with those silver sequined evening gowns.
