Missoni’s City Girl Strives for Nature at Fall 2012

MILAN – Last season, Angela Missoni dressed up the Missoni girl for a night at a party where dresses danced with her. This season, a different kind of “wild” night is in store. The premise was a girl who wants to lose herself in nature, but is stuck in the city. This time around, Missoni uses natural materials (wood, fur, rocks) to make a city girl’s wardrobe. The earthy tones were there as well–mineral colors, beige, copper, green, gray with brighter colors thrown in later in the show as if the girl was getting more and more wild. The signature knits were, of course, ever present but this time they looked more nature-infused as if vegetation was growing on theme, dirt was laid across, or smoke was covering the garments. Missoni has been obsessed (and for good reason) with finding a new way to reinvent their signature pieces and they did it well this time around with the mixing of the fabrics.
