Marchesa Fall Winter 2012 Show at New York Fashion Week
NEW YORK – The eye-popping gowns are out in full force at Marchesa for Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig’s Fall/Winter 2012-2013 collection during New York Fashion Week. This time around, though, it wasn’t all the jaw-dropping ball gowns that were doing the talking. The short lace dresses also spoke to the crowd that oohed and ahhed throughout the show. Marchesa’s Fall 2012 line was inspired by French painter William-Adolphe Bouguereau’s painting A Soul Brought To Heaven about two angels carrying a woman through clouds. This theme was brought to life in the feminine pieces, luxe embroidery, and lavish feathers. Though the models looked like angels, there was also a tough element with skeleton print bodysuits and leather.
