Dries Van Noten Fall Winter 2012

PARIS – The Oriental theme came out with a vengeance at the Dries Van Noten show during Paris Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2012-2013. This was obvious by the kimonos and dragons that were digitally printed on the silk and crepe. One might have thought this would have made the clothes more like costumes, but Dries Van Noten consistently knows how to make something wearable. He’s also a sucker for details and they ran the gamut here. Van Noten, though keeping with this Oriental theme, went all over the place, incorporating structured menswear-inspired pieces with looser, prettier dresses and clashing it against military looks.
